Rough cut 1 of print and audience feedback

  • Poster needs better font for tagline, its a very basic and un-interesting font
  • Needs better placement for title of the movie
  • Need a better antagonists face can be seen, therefore giving away the movie

  • Needs a better picture, its of a bad quality and readers wont be impressed
  • Not enough sell lines to fully seduce the audiences into buying this magazine
  • Needs a better masthead, its too long and not snappy enough for a movie magazine

First Draft of Trailer and Audience Feedback

  • We need to edit sequences faster to be more effective and to fully grab the audience and make them interested
  • We need a better soundtrack to compliment the trailer
  • There is a lot of ambient sounds cluttering the trailer makes it look un-proffesional and tacky therefore needs better sound editing
  • There needs to be more locations for better overall trailer, more locations needed for a better story as well

Development of poster

I have used various fonts, brushes and pictures to make the poster. The red font colour is to symbolise not just violence but also mystery. The red handprint is to conceal the antagonists identity and preserve some of the mystery and for also audiences to guess about the movie.

Soundtrack

This is the soundtrack for my trailer. As you can see i have used both garage band and final cut for my soundtrack. The way I did this was use websites to download legal sounds to use in my trailer and importing them into final cut. We then had to trim, place and time the sounds in accordance with the scene that was playing.

Development of magazine cover

This is the stages for the magazine. The picture is purposely blacked out to conceal the identity and mystery for readers to keep on guessing about the plot of the movie. The red is there again to give a hint of violence that will come forth into the movie.

Photos for print work including analysis of images

This is the photo for the front cover of the magazine. It has a menacing feel to it and also it has space around it to place sell lines that would go on a magazine cover, therefore it will be suited to the magazine.

this is the photo for the poster. The eyes give a menacing feel to the poster. The background is also suited to the darkness of the antagonist. This would be suited to the poster as it is a plot device and a symbol of the film to act as a signifier to the audience of what the film might include.

Images of models trying on costumes

As you can see these are models trying on the costumes. The black hoodie and dark jeans will be what the antagonist will be wearing. The bottom two images will be similar to what the protagonists and its companions will be wearing.

Hazard & Risk Assessments of locations

Recce of Location

A recce is a pre-filming visit to a location. The purpose of the visit is to decide upon the suitability of the location for shooting. I will need to comment upon the access to necessary facilities, assessment of potential of any potential  issues with sound or any issues at all.

Location: There is a car park on Gladstone Street, which at night, due to its emptiness can double as a football pitch due to its vast space.

Is it suitable: Yes, as it is very easy to access and I will not be tresspassing. The lighting will be good as there are street lights to illuminate the place. Sound is very good, as the time I will be shooting, the car park will be very empty and there will be no people around as it is desolate.

Additional comments/observations: The place is very suburban and therefore is suited to match the thriller repertoire of being a dark vast location.

Location: There is a tight street, which can get claustrophobic and where our chase will take place.

Is it suitable: Yes, it is legal to access. The lighting will be not a problems as there is street lamps illuminating the way. Sound will be very good as this street is not much used at all and will be quiet for most of the time.

Additional comments/observations: The place is very claustrophobic so it would be suited to the thriller repertoire

Location: Exterior of a house

Is it suitable: Yes, it is legal to access. The lighting is not a problem as there is a street lamp just outside of the house. The sound will be ok as at the time of shooting (which is at night) there will not be a lot of  by passers walking in front of shots.

Additional comments/observations: The shot will see the protagonist exiting out of his house.

Location: Park Gate

Is it suitable: Yes, it is in the street so we wont be trespassing. The lighting is again not a problem as at the time of shooing, there will be street lighting which illuminate the street and make it easier for cameras to pick a picture up.

Additional comments/observations: The place will be a dark area therefore it will match a thrillers repertoire of dark locations
