Secondary Audience Research

The audience of my trailer and the magazine cover will be slightly different because not everybody reads film magazines. The TA for my magazine will be similar to Empire magazine

The film "Lawless" is similar to my intended narrative because it has thriller repertoires and conventions to it mixed in with a bit of action in it as well, this will be similar to the narrative of my trailer as I will follow the typical repertoire of thriller. The film also has a sinister atmosphere to it which makes it more mysterious and un-predictable just how a typical thriller would be. The TA of this film is:

The film "Unknown" also has similar narrative themes and uses thriller repertoire in a similar way to how I intend as the film creates an enigma for the protagonist (who is also mysterious) to solve the mystery. It also has the location a a big city where the protagonist seems entrapped. The music also enhances the atmosphere and makes it more mysterious as well. The TA for this is:

Therefore I propose that my target audience is more males as both films, Lawless and Unknown have a more male audience then female and we also have to target the 15-34 year old target audience as both Lawless and Unknown have the same aged audience as well. Both films also show that mainly the working class people viewed the film but the film will not reflect any class and will be targeted at all classes as this is not important to the narrative.

The secondary research will influence my primary research as i will have to create a focus group to properly find the target audience of my proposed trailer which will most likely reflect the target audiences of Lawless and Unknown.
